Ring Road Rambles
A pigeon swoops like a skipping rope across the Ring Road. Three starlings open their wings making triangular shapes as they swoop past. Soft grey clouds are layered over a pale blue wash sky. I pass a woman with shoes decorated with pearls. She is walking her poodle dog by the post box. As I walk on, I see a bird’s nest by the Highlands estate. Further down the road there are ripe apples on a tree opposite the tarmac entrance to the Stourton Park and Ride site. A crow perches on top of a street lamp by the Belle Isle Foundation centre.
