Winter landscape

The woods shimmer in the golden sunshine. The oak tres illuminated by a bright blue sky are a welcome sight after several days of grey skies and misty rain.  Two swans, moor hens and coots make ripples and lines as they swim across the lake.

The semi-circular arrangement of beech trees look sculptural now their leaves have fallen. Inside the circle, a great beech tree stands with branches outstretching across an expanse.

At the Rose Garden, I spot robins, nuthatch, a squirel and several magpies swooping down to eat seeds left by Peter, one of the park regulars.

The fallen tree which fell across the carriageway further down the park has now been shorn to allow walkers to pass inbetween two parts of the trunk.
